The Vintage Pattern shop is proud to have a selection of a varied array of 1940s coat patterns, 1940s vintage jacket patterns and 1940s suit patterns.

1940s Coat Patterns

Coats around the world are varied and range from the standard, perfunctory Trench coat and Anorak to the more delicate and feminine Duffle coats, Princess Swing coats and Cape coats.  The choice available on this website and from our stock is forever developing and changing as we add more vintage patterns to our already extensive stock. We have patterns from well-known providers such as Simplicity and Vogue.

Of course, you want your coat to be practical for the typical varied seasonal weather you experience in your home area. But, by choosing one of the 1940s coat patterns available, you can also have the stylish and sophisticated look that was a distinctive feature of 1940s fashion.

1940s Vintage Jacket Patterns

Jackets are extremely versatile.  They work well as a suit top, creating a mix and match look. They are a great alternative to a coat when the more favourable weather does not require full or thick outerwear.  Jackets are smart and look great with a skirt or trousers, over a blouse or under an overcoat.

You may like to peruse the vintage blouses in our stock, that would complement our range of 1940s vintage jacket patterns.

1940s Suit Patterns

At a time when women were asked to fill in on jobs primarily done by men, the suit came into fashion.  This allowed the women of the 1940s to look professional and committed without compromising on style and sophistication.

Suits would pair well with any of the hat patterns available on our website.
